ABOUT
The Company was founded in Napier New Zealand in 1995 as Scottsdale Building Systems Ltd (since changed to Scottsdale Construction Systems Ltd) to develop & market light gauge steel wall & roof panel technology primarily for residential construction.Scottsdale launched its products in earnest in 1997 comprising roll forming machines plus design & manufacturing software.
Scottsdale formed strategic relationships with two major US corporations. In 2003 NuconSteel (Part of Nucor) bought the rights to Scottsdale’s panelised technology for the North American market and Mexico.
In 2005, Scottsdale Construction Systems and Truswall (part of Illinois Tool Works) and NuconSteel entered into a joint venture and developed our truss fabrication system. Scottsdale sells the truss technology in all world markets. In 2016, Scottsdale Construction Systems took back the rights to the North America and Mexico from Nucor and Illinois Tool Works and now sells and supports these markets alongside the rest of the world markets that it previously operated in.
Today Scottsdale Construction Systems has sold over 700 machines in over 80 countries.
MISSION STATEMENT
Scottsdale is dedicated to innovating, manufacturing, delivering and supporting the most advanced light gauge steel wall frame & roof truss technology worldwide. We seamlessly integrate our software technology with our steel rollforming machines to provide durable solutions ranging through single to multi machine, high volume applications.
True to its roots, Scottsdale maintains an innovation-centric culture at its New Zealand base, designed to promote and develop the creativity of each employee and to satisfy the fast changing needs of our customers in over 80 countries.
TECHNOLOGY
The technology comprises comprehensive virtual building 3D design software and machine control software and CNC rollforming machines.
SCS has two product lines: Panelised Fabrication Systems and Truss Fabrication Systems, although many permutations and combinations are possible, i.e. panels can be used for ceilings, roofs & beams; trusses for floor joists.
The Panelised Fabrication System can build complete Steel Houses Including Walls, Ceiling, Roof Frames & Floor Joists for the residential market. For the commercial construction sector it can be used to build Completed Steel Buildings Including Roofing Panels, Infill Panelling, External Rain Shield & Internal Partitioning.
The Truss Fabrication Systems produces fully engineered bolted steel trusses and floor joists.
These technologies have been developed for the residential & light commercial markets taking account of operational & economic realities, such as the impracticality of transporting wall frames & roof trusses any distance from the point of manufacture. This means low cost rollformers and production rates suitable for 2 to 4 man teams manufacturing & fabricating light gauge steel panels and/or trusses.
Both technologies are software & rollformer based using cold rolled steel from 0.55mm to 1.20mm thickness.
